Ribbon Cutting Ceremony

On Friday, June 3, 2005, a ribbon-cutting ceremony was held for the Shell Coastal Environmental Modeling Laboratory at the LSU Energy, Coast & Environment Building.

From left to right are Bill Bowden, LSU Foundation; Todd St. Romaine, owner of St. Romaine Oil; Dr. Robert Twilley, Shell CEML Director; John Hofmeister, president and county chair for Shell U.S.; and William Jenkins, LSU System president.

Speakers at the ceremony were Dean Ed Laws, School of the Coast and Environment; Dr. Robert Twilley, Director of the Shell CEML; Bill Bowden, president and CEO of the LSU Foundation; William Jenkins, LSU System president;John Hofmeister, president and county chair for Shell U.S.; Todd St.Romain, owner of T. Romaine Oil; Louisiana Lt. Gov. Mitch Landrieu; and U.S. Senator Mary Landrieu.

Also unveiled at the event were "Info-Stations," and extension of Shell's $800,000 partnership with the America's WETLAND campaign.

Participants were able to tour Shell CEML and other facilities connected to the laboratory.
